Apple plans to add Samsung's latest tablet, the Galaxy Note 10.1, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to the list of products infringe the patent claims in a court case in California, Bloomberg reported. Reasons to support this addition was made in federal court in San Jose today, and follow the intent Samsung said to add its own infringement claims iPhone 5 in the same process.

Galaxy Note is Samsung's latest 10.1-branded tablet itself, although manufacturers have been tapped to provide the hardware for Google Nexus 10 slate as well. Updates Jelly Been is the version of Google's Android OS that powers the Notes, that are included in this lawsuit, which is currently scheduled for a 2014 trial date.

Obviously we do not see a draw down situation here, as both sides in this case seemed eager to make sure the list is updated to include the latest from each party. Apple won an initial order in this case blocking sales of Samsung Galaxy Nexus in the United States, and the Galaxy S III added to the list of products that infringe IP said in August. In October, Judge Lucy Koh revoke an earlier injunction against the Tab, Galaxy 10.1 the previous 10-inch tablet from Samsung, in a separate trial in the same court.

For every action that results from the process to have teeth, they really should apply to the current product, and given that the trial date is not more than one year, expect to see more devices named by both parties for a while as an additional hardware released.
